Apple Watch reser

My watch says to many attempts passcode attempts. I’ve tried hard reset by pressing button on side and crown. The reset option never comes back on just the same message of to many attempts. This is very frustrating because I didn’t try to log on to many times. This message came up first attempt. Any help would be appreciated.
