Turn the Mac startup sound on or off - Apple Support -- Did you turn off "Play sound on startup" in Apple menu () > System Preferences > Sound > Sound Effects? If you have, turn off "Play user interface sound effects" as well and restart your Mac: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac - Apple Support

If the behavior continues, try testing in a different user account to further isolate: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

If the above doesn't help, let us know the following:

1.) What macOS version are you running?

2.) Have you installed any new apps lately that may be causing the sound?

How would you define this sound? Is it a click? A tap? A ding? Perhaps it is a spec of a third-party app you installed?
