When I ask my HomePod, “Hey Siri, play some music”, Siri responds with “To do that your apple music subscription needs to be updated”.

I have the Apple Music Individual Plan for $9.99/mo. My subscription is up to date.

Any ideas how to update my subscription so HomePod will play my music.

Thanks for the "Reset HomePod" instructions. I followed the steps included in the instructions and now it works as expected.
