my AirPods won’t charge no matter what I do

they went dead a day ago and won’t charge since then

You seem to have already read an article related to this (If your AirPods won’t charge - Apple Support).

If you can, you should try to use another Lightning cable.

As it states at the bottom of the page, if your AirPods still won't charge, you should contact Apple Support.
