Left AirPod pro humming issue for MacBook Air (not for the iPhone)

My left AirPod Pro started humming when on "noise cancellation" or "transparent" setting. I was able to solve the humming on my iPhone (only on the iPhone 11) following the instructions in a prior support thread since iPhone OS allows me to "forget this device" as the solution instructed. I can't "forget a device" in OS Monterrey Bluetooth settings. Consequently, I can't resolve the humming for my MacBook Air 2020 M1 running Monterrey 12.1. AirPods Pro firmware is current. I bought the AirPods pros for noise cancellation and am very frustrated now. Help?
