Which Ipad is best?

I am an equine veterinarian and I travel from farm to farm. I am looking for the best Ipad to use for accessing my cloud based software (evetpractice) and global vet link - from a web browser, there's no app options yet for these.

I'll be typing in notes and generating invoices and taking pictures of patients. I will, literally, be out in the field with rain, snow and dirt and the likelihood of dropping it is pretty high.

I'm wondering which model would be the best for my needs. I plan on getting a very good case.

The best iPad is the one that best fits your needs - although from your description, iPad may not be a good choice at all. Given the environment that you intend to use your iPad, you are going to need a very good (read “mil spec”) case that is rated for both drop and environmental protection.

There are very few cases that are waterproof (which by definition will require an integral waterproof screen protector) and offer good drop/impact protection. There are “pouch” type cases intended for exposed marine applications, but these offer little in the way of physical protection.

Touch screens do not work well in environments which may be wet - and are not ideal when hands are wet or dirty.
