should i buy one time purchase or subscribe for 69$/ yr? small user . Senior.

Re: Microsoft Office 364 for Mac. Is there a downside to buying a $149/ one time purchase vs subscribing at $69/ year as a single person home plan.? Already have access still to a working copy of Office for Macs 2011. ( old iMac 2011) still works fine Maxed out memory 2T hard Drive ) (Have working Purchased copies of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom before subscriptions ) Am using Excell to store passwords and expenses monthly quarterly annually as a budget management tool .

I understand they won’t be exported to newer versions but the data can be saved as pdf and mailed with a password to myself right. Just trying to have a good record of the passwords which are automatically used by Apple’s

Password auto fill . Rather than paying for a password manager.

Be candid, tell me if I Should invest in 364 or password app.? I never had to buy password app when I had an up to date excell record of password changes by web site. Using facial ID on Iphone 14; Fingerprint on MacBook Pro 2016, and code entry on I Pad Air 2 (2014). So passwords are being updated and working with auto fill. Except for new web sites.

Should I:

pay for Office 69$/year or pay for a Password app ? $99/year?. Never had to Pay for or use a Password app when had Excel spreadsheets before my MacBookPro purchase 64 bit system upgrade.

Senior Mac user with no one else to ask:) Any advice welcome. PS enjoying learning how to use Excel again-on (some great YouTube videos ) . Do you all use a password

manager? My best pal is pro Android/ anti Mac so can’t ask him . Which one.? Tried the one month trial of Office 364 and love it. And Word.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.2

Office 365 is free on

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365?ms.url=office365com&rtc=1

Granted, the web based version isn't as precise in document layout as the paid version, but for all but the most sophisticated user the free version is plenty, and you get ample space in Redmond Washington.

http://www.libreoffice.com/ and http://www.openoffice.org/ are also free.

Microsoft office can be had for a one time fee of $79.

The only reason to go for the subscription is if you are going to do a corporate license or want to share the license amongst 5 users for an annual fee, and get the formatting.

The one time fee comes with no updates, but the next time you might need one is in 5 years.

Students can also get discounts through colleges, and teachers of K-12 can get it too.
