Hi ashrafkasim,

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Apple support have an article online that can guide you.

Similarly, you could drag the back-ups folder(s) to the external drive.

Alternatively, if the external drive is big enough,

you could back-up everything on your Mac with "Time Machine".

What kind of backups do you want to move to the external drive?

The backups of your iOS devices (iPhone, iPd, iPod touch)? Then perhaps this can help. https://readdle.com/move-backups-external-hard-drive-tutorial

You can easily move a Photos Library to an external drive, if you do it exactly as described in the link posted by bro. You should just be aware, that moving the system Photos Library is has additional requirements. The system Photos Library needs to be available at all times, even if you are currently not working with Photos. You will have to keep the external drive connected at all times, when you are signed into your user account. If you are using a portable Mac, it might be limiting to have an external drive connected at all times. In that case you may want to keep a small system photos library with just your favourites on the internal drive and archive the library with all photos on your external volume. The external volume must not be your Time Machine volume.

Hi

If the drive is NTFS format, your mac won't be able to write to it. As pointed out above one of the mac formats (APFS or MacOS extended) are best for working with a Mac. If you want the drive to be usable on windows also then you will need to use ExFAT - but bear in mind if you do, there are restrictions on what you can use it for on a Mac. For example ExFAT is not suitable for storing a photos library package.
