Unable to receive 2-step validation codes

Ever since updating to 15.3.1 I have had phone issues - sending and receiving texts BUT the big issue is not being able to receive 2-step validation codes for logging into email or business accounts. Could some please advise what might be occurring and how to resolve this issue.

Or do you mean app-specific passwords? if so see -> Using app-specific passwords – Apple Support (AU)
