Exactly, ..... it already happened to me in the past, so I ended buying a new one. Now I have 2 Ipods to repair the screen Lol. Apple quote over the phone was $130 , a repair shop in NY so far quoted me $80, another shop in NJ $50.

I don't believe that Apple will replace a screen on a 4 gen iPod any more. A third party repair place might, but it would cost more than the iPod is worth.
