It certainly appears so. There was no mention of it on today’s Apple Event, but surprisingly, they are no longer showing on the Apple site.

There are several 2019 and 2020 model year 27” iMacs available as of tonight on the Apple Refurbished site. If you need to upgrade your 27” iMac and can live without the M1x architecture for now, you have options. Note, too, that these 27” iMacs qualify for AppleCare when purchased from Apple on the refurb site.
It appears so, please check the Apple.com refurbished site.
The new Studio Mac starts at $1999 (32GB RAM, 512GB SSD) and is a VERY VERY capable machine at that price. No need to go backwards to a PC (yeach what a horrible idea) . Buy one and then select one of the many 27" external displays available and for <$3000 you have a VERY nice machine, one that far out performs a 27" iMac.
Please stop panicking and either buy one or suffer going backwards to PC land.
I'm super disappointed. I was going to purchase a new iMac 27" when they launched. Now I may have to go back to a PC to afford a 27" monitor with enough power to process 4k video. The new studio version is $4,000 and I'm not buying a 24"iMac.
My hope is that the design team at Apple will use the new 27” Studio Display as the basis for a new 27” iMac with an M1pro or M1max chip, more RAM (32 or 64 GB), and a reasonable capacity (2TB to 6TB). Time will tell.
The only way to do this is to get a monitor that is not an Apple product. You still have to buy a keyboard and mouse. Apple should have supported the 2k to 3k buyer. I will live with my old iMac for now, dollars lost by Apple.
At this point I think I would avoid the refurbed models. I bought one of the last Power PC iBooks when Apple drop the support for the PPC processor a short time later. Depending on how long you keep your Macs it's only a matter of time before support for the Intel modes is dropped. I do keep my Macs for the long haul.
I'll keep my 2013 27" iMac for a little longer, it's still doing what I need. I'll wait for the reviews to come out for the Studio Display. The improved audio and camera may be worth the premium. I'll hold out longer for an iMac based on the Studio Monitor, but will probably go with a Mac Mini along with the new display.
No keyboard or mouse is needed, use your old keyboard and mouse!
