frozen apple watch screen

The latest advice said to go to the WATCH APP on my IPHONE and then go to GENERAL>RESET >RESET SYNC DATA. I cannot get that to occur. The RESET SYNC DATA is YELLOW and won't do anything when I touch her.

I have no idea if that will actually help things but I am desperate as I am out of the country and can't get to an Apple store.

I spent 23 minutes with an apple representative who did not know how to help.

My watch( series 4- three years old) and my phone(12 Plus) less than a year old are both up to date with the latest software updates.

  1. I have forced my watch off by touching the digital crown at the side bar until the apple symbol came back on.
  2. I have made sure my watch is clean.
  3. My wifi and cellular connections are strong.

Hi Carol,

As you are able to access your Watch at times,:

am wondering if your Watch has enough storage / memory / space / free, to allow your Watch to operate smoothly.

(Eg: You might want to check if too many photos and songs etc., have been saved. ?

ie:

Open the Settings app  on your Apple Watch, then go to General > Storage.

Or

To do this on your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app, tap My Watch, then go to General > Storage.

If storage is not a problem:

Seems like you may need more expert advice on the options for your watch.

Is it not possible to take your Watch into an Apple Store in the country you are in, for evaluation?

If so, A Genius Bar reservation is recommended:

Since I have done step one( forced restart) and two does not apply( it will charge & turn on) but my watch still becomes unresponsive( frozen screen) at least twice a day, is my next step to ERASE or UNPAIR and ERASE? What would be the benefit of doing this in terms of watch responsiveness?

Could it be that the watch is old and should be replaced( not quite 3 years old?) I also checked and my battery life is at 83% so it doesn't seem like I should have this problem???

Please advise.

Thanks, Carol
