How to run Outlook as Administrator on MacBook Air?

I'm currently running a VBA code on excel to send an email of a active worksheet by clicking a command button. However, I need to run Outlook mail as Administrator. Anyone know how to do it?

Hi MrRobotM83,

If you need to run an app with superuser privileges, usually the app would prompt for an administrator password to continue. (This is similar to running with administrative privileges in Windows.)

Nonetheless, if you still need to run an app with superuser privileges, you can manually do so using these two methods:

Run an app with superuser privileges just once

  1. Log in to an administrator account.
  2. Open Terminal, located in Applications -> Utilities.
  3. Locate the app in the Finder.
  4. Right-click (or hold down Control as you click on) the app, then select Show Package Contents.
  5. Inside the Contents folder, open the MacOS folder. It should have an executable inside.
  6. In Terminal, type sudo and add a space. Then, drag the executable into the Terminal window - the path will automatically be filled in for you. Hit Enter (Return) to run that executable with superuser privileges.
  7. Terminal will prompt for your admin password to continue. It won't show any characters as you enter your password.
  8. If successful, the app will launch and run with superuser privileges. Those privileges will be revoked when the app is quit.

Run all apps with superuser privileges

If you need to complete a task that requires superuser privileges, you can temporarily use the hidden root account. It is the most powerful and most privileged account on the entire system - similar to the hidden Administrator account in Windows. For security reasons, both are disabled by default.

To enable and use the root user account, see this article: How to enable the root user on your Mac or change your root password - Apple Support

IMPORTANT: Be sure to disable the root user after you're done using it.
