Can't sign into gmail on Mail.
When I try to add a gmail account to the Mail app, I just get a spinning wheel. I clicked on google, then continue and it tries to access the browser but never gets there. Any ideas?

Yes there is a bug— verify you have Safari set as your default browser. I know it sounds crazy...
