Using STIR/SHAKEN to block unverified numbers

How can we begin blocking “unverified” numbers using the STIR/SHAKEN protocols?

Most of the trash calls received are unverified (spoofed) calls. Let us begin enforcing & filtering these calls.

Except Telus, my local carrier here in Canada, says that they implemented the protocol but they also say this:

"At the time of launch on November 30, 2021, most devices are not capable of supporting STIR/SHAKEN and, therefore, will not display “verified” for incoming calls. These devices will continue to display calls as they normally do today.

Once your device is capable of supporting STIR/SHAKEN, then validated calls will automatically display on your handset as “verified”. No action will be required of you."

iPhones running iOS 13 or newer support it (it is really nothing to do with any smart phone make or model, it is does the operating system support it). However, the verified information is only displayed after the call, not while it is ringing.

The verified status will show in your call log after the call goes through to voice mail or you answer it.

But support for it has been in ios since the fall of 2019.
