External Cameras

My friend has purchased an iPad Pro 12.9 for zoom use, but is frustrated with the camera being on the side used in landscape position. Can an external camera be used via a compatible USB adapter? Ive found lots of USB-C hubs which are compatible but none mention the use of it to allow an external USB camera.

Thanks

You are very welcome.

External cameras (like many external peripherals) often require installation manufacturer-specific device drivers. One of the specific limitations of iOS/iPadOS is that you cannot install stand-alone driver software. Where manufacturers provide an appropriate App for iOS, custom drivers will be incorporated within the App. As such, external hardware devices that are compatible with iPad or iPhone are often labelled as MFI (“Made for iPad/iPhone”) - and will have a companion App.
