Is possible to get a virus using public wifi with iPhone?

hello,


i want to know if it is possible to get an virus on the iphone when youre connected to an infected wifi. for example in the school or at burger king or smth.

Connecting to a public network does not, automatically, infect your system.


The major drawback to public networks is that you can't be sure that someone else on the network can 'see' your traffic.


At the end of the day, you are just as vulnerable to most viruses and malware (which usually trick you into installing software e.g. via popups, links, etc.), but this can happen on public or private networks.
