My iPhone 12pro won’t go into landscape mode even though the rotation lock is off

Which particular screen / app are you attempting to view in landscape mode?

NOTE that not all apps / screens can go in landscape mode. Try opening the Settings or Messages app and then rotate your iPhone. Do those apps go in landscape mode?


IF the rotation lock is OFF and you are still unable to put the Settings app in Landscape mode, then  Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).
