MacBook Pro cannot open image files from an existing external Lacie hard drive

I cannot open image files on my Lacie external hard drive using my new M1 MacBook pro, but have no issue opening the same files from the same Lacie hard drive using my old MacBook pro. Please help.

That is telling you directly that this is a file permissions issue. The files are restricted to be read only by a different User than you.

Follow the directions in the alert and change the files permissions so that Admin users or your specific user account can see these files, and then you can READ them.

if the drive is NOT a Mac format, you may have to copy the files to a drive you can change to examine and edit them.

I called Apple support and they were able to help me. It was a permissions issue and we had to reinstall the operating system to fix it. Thank you so much for responding to my post. I appreciate it and I love these forums where people come together in community to help one another solve issues and have a positive experience with our tech and each other. Thank you.
