Add external apps to notification center

Just upgraded my OS to Monterey 12.1 on a MacBook Air and suddenly discord notification badges have stopped appearing. I checked in-app settings and they are toggled to allow desktop notifications & unread message badge. I then looked up some how-tos and checked the notification center:

but as you can see, chrome appears to be the only external app appearing on the list, and I can't figure out how to add other apps so as to allow badge notifications. Help?

Hello there BreadLoafMatt,

Thanks for posting here on the Apple Support Communities! This is a place where other Apple users can submit questions or respond to others to help lend a hand. Let's take a closer look as we do our best to provide some additional insight.

We see you're not seeing options for Banners or Notifications for some third-party apps. Since they don't even seem to show up in the list, you may need to trouble with the app developer. However, you may want to start with just a normal restart of your Mac first: Shut down or restart your Mac Any change?

If not, you may need to reinstall the affected app. If there is any data you want to save before trying that, contact the developer directly or create a backup: Back up your Mac with Time Machine

Certainly keep us posted, we’re here for you every step of the way!

Take care.
