Great question. This is because I have the White Magic Keyboard (iPad Pro 12.9 inch 5th Generation) and the Black Magic Keyboard (iPad Air 4th Generation). Both are about 9 months old and so are the devices that they are attached to.
The Magic Keyboard, to this day, performs the same as it did when it was new. I use my iPad for at least 4 hours per day and the keyboard is a huge part of that. Time has not affected the Keyboard’s performance.
Now, on the appearance of the White Magic Keyboard. For me, it is difficult to keep it clean. There has been some wear marks around the track pad where the palm heals rest. The wear shows on the white easily. Frankly, I have not attempted to clean this keyboard at all. I can deal with a few wear points/marks around the trackpad and at the top of the case when closed.
The Black Magic Keyboard, on the other hand, is used about the same by my wife and has also worn at the same rate. The difference here is that the wear points/marks are hidden well by the black color.
In the end, neither of the Magic Keyboards look bad at all. They make look slightly worn but not bad at all.
