Certain apps not working on my phone.

Recently, certain apps would not work when I'm on WiFi at home. For example, the Facebook app would not work on WiFi at home. When I turn off WiFi, it works as if I'm on dial-up internet so it's completely slow and some things just don't load. But here's the weird part: when I am at my boyfriend's house, Facebook works completely fine on his WiFi but a game I play on my phone refuses to work on his WiFi... but on cellular data, it has issues loading. So it's like a complete opposite of what works at his place and what works at mines. I tried to see if maybe it was a VPN issue based on another thread but that wasn't the case as I have no VPN connection that needs deleting. Is anyone else having this issue?! My sister is experiencing the same issue and it's so frustrating! It seems that it only started maybe after the last software update.

Hey there xquisitexqs,

There could be an issue with either your network connection on your iPhone or the applications. First, to help rule out application related issues, we recommend taking the steps below:

"Close and reopen the app

Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

Restart your device

Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

Check for updates

To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.

Delete the app, then redownload it

Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed."

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

Should the issue persist, continue with the steps to help resolve Wi-Fi and network issues:

"Try restarting your iOS or iPadOS device. Here's how to restart your iPhoneiPad, or iPod touch.

Then restart your router, and cable or DSL modem. To restart your router or modem, unplug it, then plug it back in.

After you restart each device, see if you fixed the issue."

"Still can't connect?

Reset your Network Settings. If you're using iOS or iPadOS 15 or later, tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. If you're using iOS or iPadOS 14 or earlier, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before."

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't connect to a Wi-Fi network
