I'm not sure how to do it via USB, but I know you can bluetooth it if your phone is compatible with bluetooth. Turn on bluetooth on your phone and on your computer, and on either one click "find bluetooth devices" or "pair devices" or something of that sort. On your cellphone you should be able to send your photos by bluetooth in your options menu, or, if your mac is feeling nice (it doesn't work with some phones for me) you can click on your bluetooth men and hit "browse device" and you can see all of the files on your phone and then you can click them and hit "import" or something to that extent.
Sorry if that was kinda hard to understand. That's as far as I know phones/macbook compatibility.
