I had a new ipad because my screen was broken and when i connected to my apple id account, it did not show my imessages, like i i never texted anyone. please help i had important things on it

If you were syncing messages using iCloud, have you signed into Settings/Your Name using the same Apple ID, then gone to iCloud, and turned Messages syncing on? If you weren't syncing messages with iCloud, did you restore a backup of your previous iPad?
