Hi, my iPhone is claiming to use 15.4gb of space. When I go in to the options to see what this is made up of, the options to sort this out only amount to approx. 4.5gb.
other than deleting the messaging app, which I assume will lose all my messages after reinstalling, does anyone have any suggestions how I can free up some of this space?

Appreciate the help, I’m still at a loss. As the picture shows, how can I find out what the ‘documents and data’ is? As currently the actual items I can review and delete don’t add up to anywhere near the 14.12gb my phone is claiming it’s using.
First, open settings, and in the search bar, type storage. This should show you everything that is taking up space. including messages.
Messages themselves do not take up space, however, pictures do. When you are in the storage section in settings, check out your messages and see what is taking up space in there. This should help you figure out what is taking up the space in your phone.
