vanishing markup on PDF in Files IPad

Practically in tears. Spent 3 hours annotating a book for a research project with markup, hit save and… oop… the screen flashes and all of my annotations are gone. No iCloud save file no nothing, just the horrifying realisation that I have to start again.

PDF crashes on markup I own an iPad 9th Gen. I have been facing an issue while I markup on the PDFs in Files. The PDF refreshes itself as soon as I draw anything on it. Sometimes I am not even able to close it because it is in a constant loop of refreshing itself. My files are in iCloud but I tried moving them into the internal storage and annotating but the issue still persists. Also this is happening only with a few of the PDFs. It would be really great if someone could help me out. Thanks

Highlights are disappearing I’ve just bought a new iPad Pro and, as I highlight some parts of a pdf file (in an iCloud folder), it just disappears. Sometimes, it disappears only one part. I’ve just spent the whole evening studying and highlighting an important text, to find out all my annotations and highlights are simply gone! That was one of the main things why I bought an iPad - the easy way (it was supposed to be, actually) to make some annotations and highlights in a text...

Markups on pdf in iCloud disappear I use my iPad (2019 12.9” pro) to annotate PDFs. The documents are all in iCloud and I open/annotate them in Files. Multiple times I have been pages into annotating a document and all my notes suddenly disappear and I am unable to reverse the action or get them back. This is infuriating as it has deleted hours worth of work. How to I stop this from happening or get my edits back when it has happened?
