I had a passcode last year, forgot it and took iPad to be serviced. When it was reset I asked to eliminate the passcode so I didn’t have one any longer. I’ve used my iPad without a passcode for 6 months until a few days ago. Why is iPad asking for a passcode when I no longer have one?
Maybe the iPad has a profile installed that requires a passcode.
FYI: Normally passcode does not setup itself, even if it does, it will still needs verification for the user.
