Apple watch

I am trying to pair my apple watch to my iPhone after not using it for a year and I keep getting the error message saying it cannot update because I am not connected to the internet. Can't get passed this point so can't set up my apple watch. I have tried deleting app and then reinstalling and resetting my apple watch. Nothing seems to work!

If you see not connected to internet or verifying update

Or;

Try to update from the watch itself.

Place the watch on the charger.

Make sure that your watch is connected to wifi.

On your watch, open the Settings app.

Tap General > Software Update.

Tap Install if a software update is available, then follow the onscreen instructions.
