iPhone camera does not zoom in

Have you tried restarting your iPhone to see if that allows you to zoom in and out to take photos in the Camera app? If not, follow these steps:

1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power off slider appears.

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force-restart your device.

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right-hand side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

Are you able to zoom in or out by toggling between 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 2.5x, and 3x in Photo mode?

Zoom in or out

- On all models, open Camera and pinch the screen to zoom in or out.

- On iPhone models with Dual and Triple camera systems, toggle between 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 2.5x, and 3x to quickly zoom in or out (depending on your model). For a more precise zoom, touch and hold the zoom controls, then drag the slider right or left.

Also, which iOS version is listed in Settings > General > About on your iPhone? The most current version is iOS 15.4.

Do you have a screen protector or case on the device? If so, does removing these help out?

It may also help to isolate the issue by testing things out in another camera-based app, just to see if you can use pinch to zoom as expected there.

If you happen to have any accessories/cables connected to the device, try removing those and see if that helps out as well.
