Can 802.11ax be disabled on an M1

Am I able to disable 802.11ax locally on my M1 Macbook? I want to force just my Macbook to use 802.11ac and do not want to disable 802.11ax on my router. I am having an issue with just M1 Macbooks having intermittent wifi slowness but other devices using 802.11ax have no issue.

Set up a separate SSID on the router that provides 802.11ac and then use that for the Wi-Fi access point with the M1 MacBook. The 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) chip is backward compatible with 802.11ac and will use that from the new SSID.
