Is this on the Notification Screen, or are you saying it is appearing on the Watch face? If the Watch face, check in the Watch app on the iPhone and see if that face is setup with a complication in that location for the news. Open your current Watch face and you can check on all the complications for that face and see what you have selected there. If News is selected, it will show the top story.
Yes, it is on the watch face in the center where the red notification dot is. I've looked everywhere, and I do not see where there is a complication for a top news story.
