Bluetooth phone connection in vehicle

Just purchased 2017 vehicle. Bluetooth connection with my iphone XR is great other than two issues: when I use my voice command to call a contact, the number comes up in my display and I can see by the counter that is dialing the number however I can’t hear it dialing or the person when they answer. If I direct dial or click the number from my contacts I can hear the the phone rings and the person when they answer. However, when the person answers, they hear a loud screeching sound for about 10 seconds and then it goes away.

Hey hzntv93,

This could either be related to your iPhone or coming from the car itself. Have you been able to test your iPhone with other vehicles and see if the issue continues there?

If not, other steps that can help include:

1. Restarting your iPhone and your car.

2. Make sure that your car stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.

3. Update your device.

4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, and turn off Bluetooth. Wait for about 5 seconds, then turn Bluetooth back on.

5. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, tap the info button next to your car name , then tap Forget This Device. Set them back up together and test.

We hope this helps. Take care.
