Battery icon flashing when charging using third party charger and original lightning cable after updating iOS 15.4.

I have the same issue. I can use an apple USB-C cable plugged into wall and my phone 12 pro max charges fine. Same positive result with wireless charging. When I use same apple USB-C cable plugged into my iMac I get a battery icon that flashes on/off. I use same apple USB-C cable and plug into my macbook pro and I get the same battery icon flashing on/off. This just started happening recently, however unsure after what update. iPhone on IOS 15.4.1.

Any ideas?

@Apple Support- If it’s so important to use genuine parts, why doesn’t the iphone come with all the parts to charge said $700.00 phone?

This also happens to me when I’m using the Apple lightning cable that came with iPhone 12 on an Anker dual usb-a and usb-c charger. It charges fine with no flashing icon on a usb-a connected cable so I don’t believe it’s the charger. This started with iOS 15.4.

My husband, stepdaughter and myself are all having the same issues. I find it very odd that they all did this within the last week. I did see that my phone updated the other day.

Try cleaning the Lightning connector on the bottom of the iPad. Use a bright light, toothpick and magnifying glass.

I just updated my phone to 15.4.1 & now my battery icon flashes while plugged in. I’m using the same charger & cable that I’ve always had. I just want to make sure this was a graphic update & not a sign of something more serious.

I have the same problem. So i have to use for third party powerbank the third party cable.

I like Iphone but I want to use for example toilet which is not from Apple. Or do I have to buy also Apples toilet when I own Iphone?

I will use third party charger anyway.

Mine is doing the same while using my apple fast charging cable and box. Works fine with 3rd party charger. Not happy that neither of my apple chargers work now with this update

You can use any 3rd party charger and cable that meets Apple’s Made for iPhone standard. But avoid “gas station” or other cheapo chargers→Why Counterfeit Lightning Cables Kill iPhones - Motherboard

This just happened to our iPad 11 Pro and we’re stumped on solutions. We’ve tried all our chargers, Apple and non. Anyone heard anything?

FIRST, this is a user to user forum, not Apple support. The answer is because you probably already have a dozen or more compatible chargers, and adding another one would just add to the worldwide electronic waste problem. And, there are many options for charging an iPhone; Apple has no way of knowing which you want to use. A Qi wireless charger, a 15 watt wireless charger, a 20 watt fast charger, a Mac charger you already have, your computer’s USB-A or USB-C port or a “classic" normal speed 5 watt or 12 watt charger.
