Boot from an external HD with El Capitan installed

can i boot from an external hard disk with El Capitan from an imac 2020 with a Catalina ios in order to use older software only running with El Capitan?

iMac 27″, macOS 10.15

Hi,

No, the iMac will not boot from an OS older than the one it shipped with.
