Apple watch

I had my watch connected to my iPhone, but I am giving the watch to my sister who has her own iPhone , I have erased the content from the watch but everytime I try to connect it or unpair it from my own there is loads of system updates that just aren’t completing

What model watch are you trying to pair? When you turn the watch on does it say you need to pair, or are you able to press the Digital Crown and see the apps? This is important as it tells me if the watch is still using your Apple ID. Another way to find out if the watch is still tied to your Apple ID is to open your find my app and look under devices. Is your watch still listed there? If it is remove the device from your account and try to pair and update again. Your watch needs to be over 50% charged when trying to pair, and must remain side by side with the iPhone during the process.

You can do this;

To unpair and erase watch and remove Activation Lock

From a web browser,sign in to iCloud.com with your Apple ID.

Go to Find iPhone.

Click All Devices at the top of the screen.

Click your Apple Watch.

Click Erase [device]. Select Next until the device is erased.

Click Remove from Account.
