Why can’t I make HomePod minis the permanent audio output for Apple TV HD?

It is clear to me that this discrepancy is one of software. Which means there is absolutely nothing wrong with the older versions of Apple TV, including my Apple TV HD. With stroke of a little bit of code Apple can make the air pod minis a permanent audio output on their own devices. It’s irritating because I want to switch to using my HomePod minis because they have superior sound too good very cheap bookshelf speakers I currently have connected to my TV. But this move by Apple is very hostile and it makes me not want to buy any more products from the company. Because in one instance we shoot loyalty by purchasing the product but then the company turned it back on this and stanzas in the back when we decide that we want to keep the product for longer than they want us to keep it. This is frustrating and I do expect an Apple representative to respond to this case!

Hi Channdaman,

I am not an Apple representative. Almost all here are users helping users. Your issue is best provided to Apple Product feedback which will be Apple representatives receiving it. This feedback can be found here: Product Feedback - Apple

a quick cut from TVOS 15 guide:

  1. Go to Video and Audio > Audio Output, then select the HomePod (or HomePod stereo pair).
  2. Note: This setting routes all sound, including navigation clicks, from Apple TV to your HomePod. Only HomePod speakers can be selected for default audio output and home theater sound. If you temporarily select other speaker options (such as HomePod mini or other wireless speakers), home theater sound and navigation clicks are not supported and your speaker selection resets after Apple TV is put to sleep.

However, I have only HomePod minis in my ecosystem. They are selected and all audio routes to them even after it is turned off.
