How much storage is needed to back up my phone

I purchase extra space @2.99 monthly because my i11 has the minimum. I am still told I don’t have enough storage to backup my phone????

You can see how much storage each backup will take in iCloud Settings. In Settings, tap your name, then go to iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups. From there, you can delete old backups you don't need, and if you tap on your device in the list, you can see how large your next backup will be. You can also turn off iCloud Backup for certain apps.

If you use iCloud Photos or if you store Messages in iCloud, these won't be included in the backup of your phone, as they'll instead be stored in iCloud separately.
