Can’t transfer Facetime Audio to iPad?

Hi,

I used to able to transfer my call to my iPad by selecting the speaker icon, selecting iPad and the call would go over. However, when I select iPad, nothing happens and it’ll just default back to ‘speaker’ after a few seconds.

Nothing has changed in terms of my settings, wifi or otherwise.

Thanks!

Greetings AndrewMacintosh,

To hand off calls between your iPhone and iPad, verify the following:

    • On each, the iPhone and iPad, go to Settings > [your name] and make sure you're signed in using the same Apple ID on each device.
    • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on each device and make sure both the iPhone and iPad are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
    • On each device, go to Settings > Bluetooth, and make sure both show Bluetooth is enabled. Also, make sure that each device is in range of one another (about 33 feet or 10 meters).
    • On your iPhone and the iPad, make sure Handoff is turned on. You can check in Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff.
    • Make sure that both the iPad and iPhone are on the latest version of the software. You'll want to complete a backup of the device. Once that's complete, you can check for the update by visiting Settings > General > Software Updates. You can also connect these devices to a computer to update the software there. Here's a guide to help: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

If you follow these steps and continue to have the issue, you may want to Contact Apple for support and service.

Kind regards!
