Green Screen

It's St. Patrick's Day and somehow my screen background has turned green. OK, but will it go back to light gray tomorrow?

Hi there, trussotto,

Under the System Preferences for the desktop background image, there are options that will automatically change the background image at regular intervals. Unless these specific options have been selected, however, the desktop background image should not change without manual input from someone using the computer, following Customize the desktop picture on your Mac - Apple Support.

If the image is still not what you expected it to be, please perform the following steps to help us further isolate the issue:

  1. Go to Apple  menu > System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver, and change the image to your desired background.
  2. Quit any running apps: Quit apps on Mac - Apple Support and restart your Mac: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support
  3. Check to see if your desktop background has changed.

If it has, boot into safe mode and see if you can reproduce the issue there: How to use safe mode on your Mac, followed by a new user account if it continues in safe mode: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support.
