Perhaps a Returned Device?:

I purchased AirPods not so long ago, and it turned out they were a returned-item. So, I had contacted Apple Support about this, and they determined there are a purchased items that was never disassociated from the previous purchaser. To fix this, they modified the date to what it should be. So, contact Apple Support, resting this change in their user database.

Apple Contact Info:

  • Contact Us - Choose Locations
  • Proceed from there, as necessary
  • Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)
