To get started, your Mac and iPhone or Apple ID are not always going to use the same password. If you have forgotten your Apple ID password and can't download any apps from the App Store to sign into your Apple ID, you may need to reset it. These steps will show you how to do that on your iPhone: If you forgot your Apple ID password
On your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Watch with watchOS 8 or laterGo to Settings.
Tap [your name] > Password & Security > Change Password.
If you're signed into iCloud and have a passcode enabled, you'll be prompted to enter the passcode for your device.
Follow the onscreen steps to update your password.
