Output Resolution when connecting a Mac Studio or a MacBook Air M1 with a Studio Display

Why connecting a Mac Studio to a Studio Display the resolution is not 5k? Same if you connect a MacBook Air M1? At least what you can see when accesses to Screen system preferences is not 5.120 by 2.880. It is like half of it. Does the Studio Display monitor do an upscale of the output of the computers mentioned?

If you were to set the display at the full 5K resolution, everything would be micro miniature.

Instead, the 5K studio display works with the Macs attached to it to operate in a "HiDPI" mode in PC worlds or "Retina" mode as Apple calls it. In default for display mode, that likely means a 2560x1440 HiDPI mode. What that means is inside the Mac, a 2560x1440 is mapped to the 5K to give a very sharp image.

If you select "Scaled", you can select "larger Text" to "More Space" or anywhere in between. So, select the one you find is most comfortable to work with. The options given are those which will provide the sharpest image on the display.
