OS X Base System has data, do I erase this too?

erased my Macintosh HD disk. OS X base system shows data. Do I erase it too. May have been hacked want to start from scratch.

You only need to erase the drive which you want to use as a macOS boot drive. Normally the "OS X Base System" is either a USB stick containing the macOS USB installer or it is a virtual volume (neither of which can be erased when you are booted from them). Sometimes after a macOS install is aborted, the destination drive may appear something like "OS X Base System", but normally you will never erase the drive showing "OS X Base System" since it is usually a virtual volume created by the macOS installer.
