My ipad says my apple ID id locked for security reasons. It is not locked on other devices. It also keeps asking for my icloud password but will not accept it

Assuming the two devices aren’t associated with different Apple IDs, reset the Apple ID password, restart both, and try again.

On my iPad, I cannot back up iCloud and then Apple asks me to sign in and when I do, I get a message stating, Verification Failed....Unknown error has occurred. Try again, so I did a few times. Now, I am locked out!

If some security-related setup prompt doesn’t work after two or three tries, stop trying.
Password prompts don’t react well to repeated attempts.
My apple ID is locked on my Ipad but not on my phone. The ipad keeps asking me to enter my icloud password also but it will not accept the one that works on my phone.
