iMac OS X 10.9.5 upgrade fix required

Hi

I have an old iMac 27” late 2013


I searched for this and nothing seems to work. Some applications are not compatible because of the software version, it is not showing updates nor upgrades available.


App Store I can only see the latest so which is not compatible


other support posts showing different versions but nothing seems to work


pls help

A late 2013 iMac can be upgraded to Catalina 10.15.7 but no later. See: How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support

Hello Again


herewith what I did:


1- Created a new partition.

2- downloaded Catalina installer patch from the developer website, opened, then downloaded it as ISO (the actual catalina to the mac on the new Partition) (no usb to create a bootable drive)

3- Ran the installation and sure the system was restarting until the configuration page reached (as if a new system).

4- Moved files after installation to the new partition with Catalina.

5- Erased the old partition
