Time stuck at 09:41

I saw a previous thread on this which seems to be closed... I am seeing exactly the same thing and there was no resolution. If I connect my iPhone to my MacBook, the phone time time display changes to 9:41 and it never updates. As soon as I unplug it goes back to normal. This has to be a bug - someone has hardcoded the time to test something and left it in the code.

Hey StevenRobertson,

Is your iPhone up to date? Updating can often resolve issues like the one you’re describing. These steps can help you with updating:

  1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see two software update options available, choose the one that you want to install.
  5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

You may also want to be sure your Mac is up to date as well:

  1. Before you get started, it's a good idea to back up your Mac
  2. From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Preferences.
  3. In the System Preferences window, click Software Update.
  4. Click Update Now or Upgrade Now.

You can find more info here:

Take care.

Thanks for taking the time on those steps, StevenRobertson.

Try seeing if the steps in this article helps: If you can't change the time or time zone on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - Apple Support Check your computers Date & Time settings.

If you still need help
If your device still shows an incorrect date, time, or time zone,2 change each setting instead of using Set Automatically. For example, you might have iOS 9 or earlier, and your country or region, or government changes the time zone or the observance of daylight saving time. If so, follow these steps:
1. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time.
2. Turn off Set Automatically.
3. Now you can change the time zone or the date and time:3
•Tap Time Zone and enter a city with the time zone that you need. (Not sure which city to enter? Use the time zone map on timeanddate.com to find a city with a time zone that matches your needs.)
•Or tap the date to change the date and time.

2. If the time on your device is wrong after you sync it with your computer, your computer's time might be wrong. Check the time on your computer in System Preferences > Date & Time. You might want to select "Set date and time automatically."

When connecting to the Mac, are you attempting to mirror the display or trying to sync? If you use AirPlay, does the same thing occur? Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror the screen of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Keep us updated.

Cheers!
