What adapter do I need to use a Dell monitor with HDMI to my older MacBook Air?

Hi,

If your MacBook Air is 2018 or newer, you can connect USB-C to HDMI or VGA adapter.

If your MacBook Air is 2011 to 2017 model, you can connect Thunderbolt 1 or 2 to HDMI or VGA adapter.
