Not able to reset factory settings in old iPhone

I want to sell my old iPhone and I wanted to reset it to factory settings.

When I am inserting my apple ID password I get information that it was not possible to connect to apple ID servers.

What is more strange that the phone seems to not be able to connect to internet at all - searching in safari does not work atc. ( I did try wifi & mobile data with my sim card).

The lack of internet connection seems to be the main issue.

Does anyone know what to do to reset factory settings or make it possible to connect to internet? Thanks a lot for your help!!

Have you tried using another WiFi network? Can you make/receive calls on the phone?

See if anything here helps.
