Home Pod Mini is taking over my house

Is there any way to stop HomePod mini from taking over everything in my home, but still ask it to play music? That's really the only thing I use the HomePod for, I want my phone or watch or iPad to answer when I am inches away from them...... not the Home Pod which is in the other end of the house.

Hi SuzanneT,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

From your description, it sounds like Personal Requests are turned on: Use HomePod for phone calls and Set up voice recognition.

Try going into the Home app on your iPhone. Then tap Home Settings > Your Name > Personal Requests and turn them off.

Let us know if that works.

Have a fantastic day!
