Unlokcing with Touch ID, weird behaviour

Hi,

I am very much impressed with the Touch ID unlocking on my new Macbook Pro, since my previous Mac was 2015 Air.

I can wake the computer by putting my finger on Touch ID without pressing it right after the screen turns off.

If the computer goes into sleeping for a few minutes, then I have to press it (once) to unlock.

It worked fine at the beginning and then somewhat stopped working lately.

When I press Touch ID to unlock the computer, the screen shows up for a split of a second and goes dark.

I need to press it again to wake it up!

It is annoying.

I found this issue mentioned elsewhere online and found no work around.

I did delete and re-register my fingers.

Didn't resolve the issue.

Then I remembered that I previously had slow track pad issues with certain settings (double tap dragging and instant zoom on) and thought this might also be setting-sensitive.

So, I checked off fast user switching in Touch ID preference (also Apply pay because I don't use it).

Now it is working properly (single pressing unlock) again, although I have to see if it stays so.

I am wondering if this is the right work around or there is a better way.

Thanks,

Miso

Report back you findings after you test for a few days...only you will know.
